Realtek's Lan Controller doesn't work nor show up in device manager

OK so I go to my computer after a beautiful day in long Island, I have a 1060 waiting for me at home. I plug it in and wake my computer up, I goto chrome. No tabs load so i say well I'll just download a new driver. So I do that,  put it on a flash drive, run it and poof I get the error message that reads "the realtek network controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable". Now one could think this would be an easy fix but no, I go all over the Internet and things like checking device manager or removing pci devices don't work,  I need help.

Did you try removing the 1060 and then starting the computer up again to see what happens?  Was the computer off when you plugged in the 1060, sounds like it was on but in sleep mode.

Never do hardware changes when PC is running. You might need to repair Windows or even restore from backup.

No I didn't do that sorry for the mistake

What about fixing the issue? If Windows repair/restore doesn't work, try clearing CMOS.
