Also, a better HDD won't cost much more. That 5400RPM speed will likely double your load times over a 7200RPM drive.

The budget was the MAXIMUM, the vive was the reason for asking for as low as possible, not asking to include it in the budget.

 

The hard drive is free, I will use it, and if it dies I will buy something else. Load times Don't worry me, I will put my favorite games on the SSD if it becomes a problem.

The 850 is slightly faster than the MX300 but has better long term endurance.

 

If you really wanted stupidly high speed then you should buy a PCI-E SSD. However with the price of those, there's no way you could buy a 1TB or 500GB model.

Do you really benefit from overinvesting in 'stupidly high speed'? The additional speed won't make a difference is almost any task.

you forgot the 16GB RAM. Although to be fair, you could add that in later. You can save money on the PSU and buy a Corsair RMx series RM850x. Both the Rmx and Rmi are great products.

Yes, going to use my desktop as a video editing workstation, hence the 4K monitor, and I don't know yet if I will add 10Gbit

 

Not to mention that once I am done with the SSD in my desktop (like I get a new, better one) I will chuck in into a server as a file cache.
