Picture Quality

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

Well it's a bit hard to see as not only you scaled the image down, but you compressed it at super low jpeg quality.

Start >  type: Color Management > Enter.

Check the box: Use my setting for this device

Then click on Add button, and then select sRGB virtual device profile profile. Then click on OK, then close the panel.

Now, restart Windows Photo gallery.

Is the picture better?

I have this problem that when I open a picture in Chrome (or Firefox) it looks great and when I want to use it as a wallpaper I download it (obliviously)... The problem is the downloaded picture (via Chrome or Firefox) this is what I end up with. There's a huge difference. Please compare my picture which is attached to this topic to this http://wallpapers.wallbase.cc/rozne/wallpaper-2275627.jpg. Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: I ain't sure if the difference can be seen so try downloading the picture and comparing that to the original.

The link gives me a 503. And are you sure you just aren't viewing it in full res inside the browser?

No, the actual file looks bad quality, yet in the browser it looks absolutely fine.

If you can look at the file fullscreen in your browser, then do so and hit Prt Scr to take a screenshot, then open up MS Paint and hit CTRL-V.

The problem is when I save it in MS Paint there's no difference :(

The problem is that the downloaded file is lower quality than the original and it has nothing to do with resolution. I'll try to do something to show you.

Yea, it's a corrupted color profile you have.

One thing that is strange is why Firefox didn't have the same problem, because Chrome is the only web browser that doesn't support this most basic feature.

Probably, it detected it as corrupted, and just ignored it.
