How to disable vsync on my PC?

ManOfDisguise

Hey guys I have windows xp and Intel Extreme Graphics 2(terrible i know) and i tried disabling it from the graphics options but i have no opengl or 3d settings there so i cant get to disable it. CS 1.6 is so laggy for me it drops to like 20 fps sometimes even 10 when there are too many players/bots on the screen or when there are smoke effects(i have smoke quality on lowest) and im playing on 640x480(opened through software because i dont have opengl i guess well it doesnt support opengl for me).

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

An Asus GTX 650 eco is good, cheap and doesnt need PCIe power connector

I've already chosen my specs for the build. The GPU im getting is better than the 650 :)

if you are dropping to 20 then its not a vsync problem. i don't remember the console commands but i will figure them out and post them later. they changed the commands a few months back.

if you are dropping to 20 i wouldnt even let it go as high as 75 as it will be far more noticeable you may want to lower your max fps. try lowering video settings to see if that helps

edit:

cl_showfps 1
gl_vsync 0
fps_override 1
fps_max 131
