Great computer not running games properly

Computer was self built with a MSI GTX 1070 and i7 6700

 

So, for about 5 months my computer's worked great, I turned it on the other night and instead of my usual 100-200 fps in games, I now get a solid 20.

That's if its running well. Regardless of settings or resolution.

 

I like to think I'm quite a tech savy bloke, but I'm bloody baffled here!

All my drivers are up to date and all my hardware is performing (In benchmarks, exactly as it did 5 months ago)

 

So conclusion, HELP ME!

Check your load temps with some utility programs.  Are you running hot?  Is the case dusty?  Are the air intakes clogged?

Uninstall the Xbox app if you haven't already, it caps the fps in some games and generally screws things up.

Also, I've had GPU fans randomly die on me causing thermal throttling.  Check that your fans are actually spinning.

My GPU is working fine (on temps and whatnot) but won't get good fps in any of the games I play, none of which are trying. 

 

I'm gonna need a hand explaining what the Xbox thing is though.

Reinstall drivers
