Xmas build

Gali

Alright dudes and dudettes, I'm designing yet another custom build for a friend of mine. The budget I'm dealing with is sub grand.

I'm focusing on somewhat more gaming performance and want to design an i3 and i5 configurations (2 separate builds). If the i3 is better all-around (full radiator and better GPU) than what I can put together just to have an i5 then that's what I'll go with.

For the i3 configuration I'm looking at:

GPU - MSI GTX GeForce 1060 6GB

CPU - Intel i3 6100

PSU - Corsair SF450 Gold+

Mo.Bo. - ASUS z170-A MoBo

Rad - Corsair H100i v2

Opt.Dr. - LG UH12NS30

HDD - WD 1TB Black

RAM - Cosair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB)

Case - Fractal Design Define XL R2

It's just under a grand ($940 plus or minus depending on site and sales)

My client isn't an extreme gamer, so I might be able to compromise on GPU and possibly the cooling situation, but even with that said, where can I cut some fat to implement an i5? If it's not worth it, I'm sure she'll be thrilled with This. Any alternatives that are better in cost/performance I'll certainly look into.

Thanks y'all!

Eternity: i7 6700k, nVidia GTX GeForce 1070, 500GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD/2 TB WD Black HDD, Corsair RM850X Gold+, Corsair H115i Extreme, Fractal Design R4, 16GB Cosair Vengeance 2400,  Acer Predator XB271HU

id definitely recommend not getting a water cooler on an i3 especially if he isnt overclocking but overall a decent build but yeah maybe switch the h100i for a hyper 212 evo or something like that and maybe try get an i5 instead of an i3 :)

Google replace the GPU with a GTX 1060 3 gigabyte version rather than the 6 gigabyte version if they're not super into gaming and the cpu cooler is a bit over kill for a i3 6100. You could replace thatt with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

Cannot recommend it at all. What's your exact budget?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Cooler Master Hyper 212 is dated, stop recommending it. Go with a Cryorig H7 instead. Nicer looking,  more compact and better performance.  ?
