Yaas, well, very much.

So far, my budget build includes an i3-6100, and a Gigabyte GA h170 Gaming 3 mobo, and a GTX 1050 Ti SC (Yes, everything else is sorted out)

Pretty 'OK' build so far? Well... As you can see, the Gigabyte h170 mobo is, in fact, a crossfire board. Now I don't know the side of AMD very well, all I know is it's not nvidia and it's not sli. But I kind of feel like it's no use, as not many games are as optimized/supported by crossfire (correct me if I'm wrong).

Is it actually a good reason to choose an AMD card, then later upgrade to dual? Or is the gain not enough, should I just stick with an nvidia card.

If the choice is to go AMD gpu, what is a good crossfire ready card? My budget for the GPU is less than 150

Thank you! Any help is appreciated!

generally, crossfire and sli should be avoided. It's best to just buy a better graphics card than two lesser graphics cards. Only when you get to the top tier cards, gtx 1080, rx480,  titan x etc. does it make sense to add another one if you really want that extra performance. My advice is to go for something like an rx470, similar to your card's price but better in almost all games.

First and formost... it is NEVER a good idea to do any multi GPU setup... period.

But if you must, don't do it with low end cards.  Even with the RX 460-470 or the GTX 1050Ti...  You should just go ahead and get a RX480 or GTX 1060 and call it a day.  You'll get 30% better performance across ALL titles without any compromises or other concerns.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

470 and 480 are very close to each other. No reason to avoid crossfiring 470's. Only thing to keep in mind is you want to crossfire the same models so To pick out one you know you can match.

2 RX 480s get close to Pascal Titan X Firestrike scores these days with the improvement in drivers.

Every little bit helps. If you can find a 470 4GB for 150, I'd say go for it and possibly get a 2nd if the PSU will support it.

Because it doesn't perform better than a 1080 on but like 3 benchmarks... Not every single game.

Actually, pretty much matches or smokes a 1080 in every game. You're going off YouTube videos, big mistake. They don't force SLI or Crossfire. Why? Because they're there to make money for their sponsors, not let people know they can get more for less. And with the 480 you can have 3 for the price of one 1080 and have Pascal Titan X performance. I do with two 980ti.

The reason I chose this board is because bundled with the i3 6100, the h170 is 10 bucks more than the h110, so why not have more. Plus, it takes up the awkward space in my case, and has m.2 slots. Thank you for posting!

I see. I'm going to link you a review of the 1050 Ti cards, not to dissuade you from Nvidia, but to show that your best expense is in a better card for a similar price. The 470 is doing a bit better in some and does a lot better in most of the benchmarks.

Well it seems now that the Gigabyte G1 GamingH170 Gaming 3's page description has changed... Now instead of "Supports 2 way graphics with AMD Crossfire technology", it says "2 way sli or 3 way crossfire"

So idk if it was driver updates or something, but it seems to now support Nvidia sli... Still not sure if I should just go with an amd card anyways, I want great performance for my money, around $150 USD
