Msi X99 Sli Plus Usb 3.0 Drivers?

So recently I stepped my windows 10 down to 7 (10 was hogging 100% of my hard drive) and have been having trouble with usb devices.

           With A lot of tinkering, I got my keyboard and mouse working using the 2 usb 3.1 ports on the back of the MSI X99 sli plus motherboard, but haven't been able to get any other usb ports working. I downloaded all the usb 3.0 drivers I could find on their website (for the board) Including the; ASMedia USB3.0/3.1 Drivers, Intel USB 3.0 Driver and the Via USB3.0 Driver. However with all of these (or one at a time) installed it hasn't worked.

 

   Would love to hear any advice,

hmm I have one and haven't tried anything aside from 10 yet. But every clean install of 10 requires me to install the drivers, otherwise the ports don't work, so I see how this can happen. I'm gonna stick around here and see where this goes. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Which Drivers did you install? All three or a specific one?

I honestly don't remember, and it was for 10 from MSI's website. What I can tell you is 10 doesn't find the right drivers. I'd trying installing the 8 or 10 drivers on 7 if they don't have 7 drivers.

I just checked and they do have 7 x64 drivers for this motherboard, and the 3.0 and 3.1 ports are listed

so I would try everything here.

well try the 10 drivers then, not sure why the 7 drivers dont work

Looks Like both windows 7 & 10 use the same driver, but 7 has 2 more available. can't figure out wether this is a choice or I need both of them.

Fixed! Not entirely sure how, but I messed around in the bios (In the usb part) of system. Glad that's out of the way

ok so it's a bios thing, that's good to know. Had to nuke mine recently after intel RST got REALLY fucked. I'll poke around in there.
