I'm going to be coding, gaming and maybe editing on this PC.

No overclocking.

i5 6500 paired with a Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 4GB.

I'm thinking about getting the Corsair VS550, as it should do the job fine. As for the non-modular cables, I could just hide them in the back? As long as the LED lights show I'm fine lol

Yes you can, but it's a real pain in the butt.

No you don't need one.

However, once you get one, you won't ever want to go non-modular again.

You don't need a modular PSU, but you need a PSU much better than the VS550. The CX 450M, XFX TS 550, Antec Neo ECO II, Antec High Current Gamer, Fractal Design Integra M  Fractal Design Edison M and anything from Seasonic or Superflower are great choices

You don't need modular cables at all, but they can be very good for cable management. Psu is crap though, get something better.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

What's wrong with the VS550?

About the same as the vs550. You're from the UK iirc, get the XFX TS 430w if you want cheap(good and enough wattage) or that corsair cx550m for 55 pounds you listed on your build from one of your other threads.

It's shit. Low quality, average performance, likely to die if you strain it to hard,

The Corsair VS is good for a computer that is 6 years old, doesn't have a dedicated GPU and the PSU just died in.

Same as above, look at what I recommend.

I've never used a non-modular psu for my pc before, but i've used them on rigs that i sell all the time, that ability to plug out those cables are so good to have :P

No, but you'll definitely want at least a decent quality PSU if you're going to be powering an RX480, which the VS550 is not. Look into a Corsair CX550M or Seasonic S12/M12.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
