Pre-download WUs?

Does anyone know a way you can pre-download a bunch of work units - say, a week's worth so it can work on them while offline, and then upload them all when it regains connection?

They value timely deliveries of wu's very

highly, there is no such functionality as far

as i am aware. I imagine it would quickly

get messy for the server, you would also

lose out on most, if not all QRB.

I am pretty sure you can do this to some

extent on boinc though, it might vary with

the project.

In fact there is an option for boinc. You can set for how much time you want to save wu's locally. I think it is right in the first setting page.

"Store at least X days of work" and "Store up to an additional Y days of work". X and Y can be decimal. The first will make it so that, if the estimated time for all tasks ever goes lower than X, the client will request more work; the second makes it so that when the client requests work, it'll try to make a buffer up to Y, though it won't force requests if the quota is not met.

Do note, however, that some projects have very wild and inaccurate estimates, which makes these settings hard to use. Still, at least they are something for making a buffer, which can be pretty useful when you know you'll lose internet connection.
