Hey guys!

I wanna get a new cpu cooler.

But I have no idea which cpu cooler to get. Max budget of around $150, but I do want to get something good for my money.

I currently have a Hyper 212EVO cooling my 4790K. At stock speeds it gets up to 75C while gaming (which I'm uncomfortable with), and just under 80 while rendering videos.

What cpu cooler do you recommend?

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

It's 106,80 euros in The Netherlands (where I live, duh :P). Is it still a good price for that cpu cooler?

Those temps aren't bad at all.

Go for a 240mm rad, lower temps, and more overclocking headroom, any aircooler is more comparable to a 120/140mm rad.

Your temps are perfectly fine and there's no need to replace your cooler.

Moved to Air Cooling.

This makes zero sense. Temperatures are only relevant if they're too hot. For modern intel chips, anything sub 85°C is fine for medium periods of time (a few hours of gaming a day), and anything under 80°C is fine for 24/7 constant full load usage.

Basically, the i7-4790k is a consumer socket CPU that puts out at stock settings only 80W, and the 212 Evo is more than enough for it.
