So i have a relatively beefy setup and was quite happy with it until it hit me that my 1070 is being wasted right now.  I have overclocked it to 2172Mhz and it will usually hit 2114 in games, but it seems to only not be going higher because it runs out of power to use.  So the basic idea of the project is to allow my card to use more power and possibly raise the voltage so i can reach higher clocks.  I know this post will already be a long story to read so i don't want to bore you with too much detail about the WHY as so much the HOW.  The card seems to be a lottery winner and so i'm ready to drop money on it to push it to its limit basically.

I found the water block i want on EK's website using their tool.  I have an EVGA 1070 SC in case you are wondering.  No problems here, i don't know how i could mess this part up.

Tubing seems to be less of an issue since i plan to use barb fittings for everything, worst case scenario ill just have to stretch the tubing or get an adapter.

The cooler is still a bit of a toss up for me though.  I don't just want a normal radiator, i want something exotic.  So i'm thinking a hybrid cooler that would sit outside my case.  So far the plan is a bong cooler like in linus' video on it, and then the water drops form the bong into a large cooler with a bunch of ice packs in it.  I'm talking frozen gallons of water to last all day.  Then pumping the chilled water back into the loop which i plan to add a CPU water block into later on.  I know that chilling the water will probably cause condensation so I want to spray my GPU with that silicone waterproofing spray for hiking boots and then wrapping the card in shop towels just in case.

The pump is probably the biggest problem for me though.  Since i have never done a custom loop before I have no clue how much head pressure ill need to get the water from the floor to my case to the top of the bong cooler.  I'm not against using a water pump from EK or somebody, they just seem so expensive compared to say a submersible pump that i could just put in the cooler with the water chiller.

And that is pretty much my plan so far.  I know there is some info missing but i think i covered the most important stuff and will happily answer and questions for additional info.  I always ask for other opinions on anything like this before I do it just to make sure i'm not missing something.  I really need help on the pump situation mostly.
