Make the close button minimize

I have 32 gigs of RAM and I don't really need to close things like web browsers or applications in general.

But I close them anyways since I'm so used to it.

 

Anyone know of a software or a reg/dll hack that will change the close button to minimize?

If I wanted to minimize the apps, I wouldn't post a thread on a forum.

Regardless, can't find anything that changes the functionality of the navigation buttons on the top, just the skin.

We all here understand what you are asking. I dont want to sound rude but the button half an inch from the minimize button does exactly what you are asking for already. Unless you can slow down time and notice the time it takes to actually load up your web browser I dont understand the need to do so.

 

We all have different needs and ways of doing things.

And this is a tech forum after-all, so simply answering the question OP posts would be optimal.

 

I'm just saying you shouldn't be so narrow minded, posting pics of a minimize button.

I think he wants the X button to minimize it, but not show up on the task-bar so that way when he clicks the shortcut it opens up where he left off, and quickly.

There are a good list of programs that already stay running in the background when closed. Skype and Origin come to mind as that's what I've been doing for a couple of days. As everyone has already mentioned, just minimize them. I understand that that isn't the answer you're looking for, but it's the only thing that makes sense. If you do find some other workaround, congratulations, but your little quest seems in vain. Good luck all the same!

All of the above apply to the current situation, including #3. (It seems as though prince is just excited about his obviously excessive amount of RAM )

Like others, I understand the question but it seems like a pointless task that also means you can't actually close a window if you wanted to. If it is such as problem don't press either, just switch using the taskbar or shortcuts.
