I'm in the process of reversing my motherboard on a Phantom 630, and once it is done I'm going to re paint it in black and yellow. I understand prep is the most vital part of the job and I no about primer and plastic primer and top coats. My problem is the only yellow paint I can find is gloss, but I want a matt finish, would using a matt clear coat varnish on top of the yellow gloss come out as matt ? or would the gloss still come through ? Cheers guys.

Okay so ...wouldn't the matte yellow be turned into a gloss finish since your varnishing it with a thin layer of varnish?

You could see I you can get some yellow plasti dip in your area. I will be similar to matte finish and perfectly removable if you don't like it.

you could try the 1K automotive paint, as an acrylic it drys flat. Upside is you can have any color of any car on the market, downside is you need to ensure your surface is prepped with a suitable primer.
