A friend and I released this review of the maxnomic thunderbolt chair just a week ago and I noticed something interesting when we posted it. I'm just now getting a chance to ask you guys what you think is going on. The camera seems to record a weird light flare over my friend's face. Now we do have a light in the room, it's just not at the angle that the flare is appearing on his face. I also question why we didn't see this flare on the small LED screen that's part of the camera. We avidly search it for any mistakes we make while recording. If you watch this video link you can also see that the flare doesn't persist through our other shots like B-Roll. By the way, I have a Panasonic V100M camcorder that I use for recording.

I can also see a bit of a faint whitish halo around the same area at the 1:57 mark, over the left side of the door frame.  Have you checked the front of the camera to make sure there is nothing in front of the lens that could cause a reflection or smudge?

I try to wash the lens with a lens wipe before we shoot. I didn't do that before we shot this video, but it was wiped before I put it away after shooting the video previous to this. Checking the camera now, it doesn't appear to have smudges.

Can you do a test shot from the same camera angle again to see if it still appears, after you've cleaned the lens?  Perhaps there is something inside the camera, however with these cameras you'd have to send it in to a service center for cleaning.

I'm currently preparing for school, but in about 8 or so hours I will have to use the camera again so I will send more information at that point.

Ok, just clean the lens using a micro fiber cloth and air blower (the kind used to clean cameras, not can of compressed air) and do a test shot.  If it still persists, whatever is causing that whitish smudge could be internal.

I've been so busy, I kinda forgot about re-posting on here. So to conclude this question, it's definitely not the camera. Must have just been a funky lighting angle, but I recorded with the camera three times since that video, and all of them came out fine.

Well if it looks good now, then it's fine.  Just observe the light angle next time if anything like this happens.
