Headset for me.

Go to solution Solved by YouRezz,

Guys, I have an update for you, I got some more money together so now I have about 150 USD. I will go with zalman clip mic, but I still don't know which heaphones to get, so it would be appreceated, if you would throw here some ideas for really nice pair of headphone worth 150 dollars. Thanks

Get the audio techica ath-50m, its totaly worth it trust me, im still cringing for not getting them

Hello guys,

Recently I discovered that my speakers, headphones and crappy table mic just isn't enough for me. So I decided to buy me some nice headset, but I couldn't find any that suited my needs :(. So I came here... I need a headset that of course has nice sound quality, but it also should have a good sounding microphone, cause I talk a lot (in-game or just with friends on skype and so on), it is for PC so it needs to be PC compatible :D, and my budget is 100 $, I know it is not a tun lot, but I don't want to spend more on headset. I don't do a long gaming sessions, when it is really boring day and I have to play I play for like 5 hours :D not more, but normally it is like 2-3 hours, so that should give you some idea how to comfort should be (hopefully).

If you need some more info, just post here and I'll tell you what you need to know ;) .

Thank you a lot for the responses in advance.

I've had this one since the end of february 2012 and it broke on me today (No fault of the headset, I just tripped over the cable destroying the inners of the USB port), it's so good I actually have another one in the post, lots of bass, microphone is pretty impressive for the price and you forget it's on your head, Surround sound is nice for games too

I have heard that these are great they are a little mor expensive but great

Audio Technica ATH-M50s

buy a blue yeti for a mic and you are good to go

I meant the whole thing to 100$, the M50 are around 140$ and blue yeti 100$ :D. Thanks for the response, but it's pretty much useless for me, to be honest a was thinking about M50s one time :D

The reviews on Amazon don't lie, take a look at all of those when you find something you like.

I can tell you that you will be told to get a pair of headphones and a separate mic.

that is another thing I considered, but the thing is when I sit in a chair I tempt to sit very far back and I'm far from the desk mic :D. And the other thing is that I live in Czech Republic and it is a problem to get separate mics. Headphones are just easier to get for me. BTW shipping from USA is another 20$ for me :D

Ok, didn't realize you were in Czech.  I might get flak for this, but... I would recomend a pair of SteelSeries Siberia V2s.  You will be able to get the mfor sub $100, they have a decent mic, are super comfortable, lasted me 2 and a half years, and sound pretty good.  They are not the best you can get, and you can probably find something better at the same price, but they very compatible, really available, and an over all easy choice.

Is the mic really 30 dollars? I was just looking at czech website that is something like amazon.com in America and I saw that for something like 6$.

That was from amazon in America, sometimes their prices get messed up, but I have seen Zalman clip mics recommended by people who know more about audio than me.

I just checked this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_7Ng-wJjuc and the siberia v2 mic is pretty good, but I'd love something a little bit better :D(mic  vise)

The Astros in that video also cost about double the Siberia.  If you want better than Siberia in a headset (mic+speaker), you will have to pay over $100.  The only wat to get better of both that I know of, is a separate mic and headphone combo.

I know, I wasn't even listening to the astros, I know that they are really good but expensive... I'd go with the Zalman Zm-Mic1 like you said, but don't you know any headphones, that are 100 dollars, I don't want to say that the Audio Technica M35s are bad, but do you know better? thanks

What do you think Logitech G230 or AKG GHS-1? in my country, lot of people said that headset have good sound than Siberia V2

but, I still recommended headphone + mic clip on. try to find headphone from audio company like Superlux, AKG, Audio Technica, Sennheiser

I happen to know that the AKG GHS-1s tempt to break in the headband part. But the G230 I don't know they look pretty nice and they would match my build pretty well :D

I would rather go with the clip mic from zalman and a nice pair of headphones, but the question is are good headphones good for gaming? And if yes which ones?

the standard answer for gaming headphones is to get an open backed headphone but for some odd reason I'm having a good time in FPS games with my closed back dt770

open backed are pioneer se a1000 or audio technica ad700(x)

What about the Asus Orion headset or the logitech G930?

Had the Orion, VERY similar to the Siberia V2s, a bit less comfortable, but a bit better sound quality, Mic was also pretty good, mine broke after a couple of months unfortunately, took too many falls off my desk and the left speaker wire got cut out.

Those are good, but about double his budget after the mic.

Not the Pioneer, even with a snowball.
