Windows 10 Wireless Xbox One Controller Issue

I replaced my wired xbox 360 controller as it was not working properly as it was really old and i got a wireless xbox one controller. I connected it and it worked fine but the only way i can turn it on is by taking a battery out and then putting it back in and then pressing the power button. The batteries are full as when it was connected i checked the power levels in the xbox accessory app. Is there a way to solve this issue?

Is it a 3rd party battery pack you are using or AAA batteries or official Xbox battery pack?

have you updated the firmware of the controller? That is done through the xbox controller app in windows, but requires you to use the cable.

I have done it.

I had a similar issues and I had to make sure I plugged it into a 3.0 USB port and uninstall then reinstall the drivers. I learned the hard way that you need to make sure you restart your pic after you uninstall the drivers or it will just mess up again.

Well i did it and it didn't work. I contacted microsoft and they said it seems to be defective so i am arranging to get a replacement,
