Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tsVyHN

Going to be buying a 1080 to go along with this build.

After careful research, I decided to go with the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X and it also goes well with my red/black theme.

Are there any cons to this card that I may have missed or is this a good card to go ahead and buy? It's on sale on newegg for $639.99 too.

1070 is a much better value, but otherwise looks good.

Don't do it yet, Nvidia is going to drop the 1080ti pretty soon, so that should give 1080 prices a kick, and also have a more powerful card for a little more available.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I would maybe get a slightly larger SSD (like 500 or so gb). Just so you have more room to put more programs and games on it. But that is a very trivial change

Well, that's why I have a 2tb HDD :). I'm gonna use the SSD mainly for OS and 1-3 games that I'll play very frequently or games that will largely benefit with reduced load times on an SSD.

Considering I'm on an FX-6300 and HD7870, I think it's best to build now. Besides, I'm going to be gaming at 1440p and the 1080 already crushes that in many games.

Also, my parents need a computer so I'll be giving them my current one.
