can i use my old optical drive from my super old pc for my new pc? or do they have to be compatible? arnt all optical drives universal?

If it has a SATA interface, yes.

If it has a female SATA connector, then yes it will work.

Probably not. If you're getting a Skylake system, then you need DDR4, so it definitely won't be compatible. If you're getting a Haswell system, then you need DDR3 and if your "super old" pc is older than 2010, then it's probably DDR2.

No. There are different revisions of RAM. DDR was common until 2006~, DDR2 until 2009~, DDR3 until 2015~, and DDR4 today.
