GPU Docks for Xps 15 9550

Hey, I am interested in getting a gpu dock for my xps, but so far I have only seen the Razer Core (which is really expensive), one from alienware (just for alienware laptops) and one from Akitio at 218$

Is the Akitio any good?

And are there any other gpu docks that work with the new xps 15?

Also, if I have a case and a gpu, can't I use that instead?
