I did my first build in an R4 and I'll say it was super easy to build in even for a noob like me.  Linus has a build guide it too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMRvz_IYSgM

Both are great cases but I'd vote for the Fractal Design Define R4. I've got two Fractal cases (the Fractal Design Define Mini and the Fractal Design Node 304) and they are amazing. Though I've not had experience with the R4, I can say the cases I do have are very quiet, have great cooling, nice cable management, and are very clean looking. They come with fan filters which is a huge plus in my book. I also have the Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced (which is for sale, PM if interested) but it didn't come with fan filters. The case is great with plenty of room and airflow but needs dust cleaned out once a year.

Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.8GHz | Corsair H110i GTX | EVGA RTX 2080 XC | Asus ROG Maximus XI | Intel M.2 nVME SSD 1TB | Samsung 850 EVO 2X2TB | 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z 3200MHz CL14 RAM | EVGA SuperNova GS 1050W | Kept cool & quiet in a Fractal Design Define R5 Window with all Noctua fans
