Hello,

I was looking for people to put their suggestions for the worst (but functional) keyboards, mice , headsets, and mics for gaming in here. Recently, I've had the feeling to pick up CS:GO. However if I am going to subject myself to hours and hours of torture, I figured I mind as well put some salt in the wound by ditching all of my gaming gear and using the worst peripherals possible. We're talking cheap membrane keyboards without legible key fonts. Those mice that have the trackballs on top of the unit! New headphones that sound like they came out of a motherboard and feel like they're made of barbed wire!

We are talking about THE WORST!

Thanks for suggestions.

- Paul.

Mice = trackpoint. They don't work when the keyboard is in use, so basically unplayable

Keyboard = Big letter one. They keys are huge and in a  werid layout

Headset = Go on a plane and steal 2 of them. PLug one into headphones and one into the mic. You can use the mic one around your neck and it works.

Monitor = Mechinical TV(someone make this work please)

Anything cheap, made by brands that have a product range broader than a barn door and feel about as good as a turd on a plate.

In my opinion, tiny mouse, dollar store earbuds, and a office keyboard with all the buttons changed around.

I had a pair of dollar store earbuds for like 3 or 4 years, used them every single day and they only broke when I accidentally stepped on them. The quality was decent, though the bass could've been better

wtf is wrong with a  Hyper 212 ? @Energycore

This tiny 92mm cooler outperforms it for $20

And this one as well

And for the same price, there are coolers that wipe the floor with it.

(This gammaxx has gone for as little as $15 in the US)

And these two as well, the Fortis 3 especially.

Yeah but I wouldn't say it's the worst. I mean, the stock coolers ones are not that great to begin with. Certainly, a lot of other coolers are better like the Hyper 212X which is a better revision of the Evo and other cheaper ones.

At OP,

I'd say any mouse with a sort of built in mouse acceleration is bad. Especially the ones with lift off problems, those are the worst.

I'm not really picky with the keyboard as long as you can press more than a couple of keys at the same time then that's kinda good enough.

I'd say don't get Razer headsets. Those things are expensive and most sound really cheap.

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

You're right, it's definitely not the worst, just like the NEX is definitely not the worst PSU you can get and the 1060 Mini from zotac is not the worst card you can get.

But since the thread already gave us the context of Hyperbole, I decided to ride that wave to point out the most common items that people buy because they're popular, even though they're not good values or even good performers.

- The EVGA NEX Gold Series are built to last forever, but they have horrible voltage regulation especially when you load the 5V rail but don't load the 12V rail. So they're unlikely to die, but they're likely to kill your hard drives, SSDs, fan controllers and etc

- The Zotac Mini 1060 cooler is loud, like reference 290 loud. It's just a hunk of metal akin to the Intel stock cooler, but trying to cool 120W of heat. And 1060 3GBs are all bad value.

- The Kingston V300 SSD is packed with really old flash that barely outperforms a hard drive in read operation, and falls quite far behind in writes.

- Dominator Platinum RAM don't perform worse than normal RAM, but they also don't perform better and cost double the price of just normal RAM that does the same thing.

Happy? :P

Oh and the CM Devastator has a fine mouse, I guess, but its keyboard is the worst feeling in the world.
