Didn't know that thought it was simply just modular not that it matters much though as the motherboard wire is a must anyway unless you planned on changing it for aesthetics, personally when it come to tier 1 PSUs I always say go EVGA G2 due to price and the fact it is essentially the top gold power supply

If you spending on a high quality, better to do cable management nicely. I would go for RMx for fully modular cables

Which PSU to get?

  1. 1. Which PSU should I get?

    • Corsair RMx 650W
      9
    • CoolerMaster V650
      2

First of. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this here or in build planning.

Which psu is better of these two. the corsair RMx 650 or the CoolerMaster V650.

The RMx has a zero RPM fan mode so it should be quieter.

Both are PSU Tier 1

The difference for me is only €3, so no budget restrictions.

I don't know which one is more reliable or more popular.

Thanks for your advice!

Both are similar in terms of quality so getting the cheaper option is your best bet.

Both are tier 1

The V650 is semi modular though.

If you spending on a high quality, better to do cable management nicely. I would go for RMx for fully modular cables

I hate the naming scheme behind these two Cooler Master PSUs. The VSM is made by Andyson iirc and is very good while the V is a rebranded Seasonic X-series and is better but it's confusing as hell for the consumer.

Both are good, the RMx is better, but I'd personally get the cheaper of the two.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

They are made by Enhance Electronics. The naming scheme was change to something like VS - > V -> V-SM or V Semi-Modular with multiple of different boxing. If I remember correctly (could be mistaken), this was due to some issue between Corsair and Cooler Master with the "VS" branding.

Also, earlier this year, there had been fully modular Enhance build V-series as well in the 550-750w range (based on the same platform as the semi-modular version.

Now it looks like Cooler Master is changing the naming scheme altogether. Looking at the first image: Masterwatt Lite looks to be the CWT GPK based B v2 series; Masterwatt is the modified CWT GPN GM / GXII Storm Edition series; Masterwatt Pro is the Enhance build V / VSM units.
