This build may exceeds $1000 depend on peripherals, but I wouldn't cheap out on peripherals.

Then go down to a i5-6600 which drops the price from ~$850 to ~$765.

yes, I know this is over $1000, but for Windows, buy a Windows 10 key from Kinguin for like $27 and then that saves you almost $60, use that money to get a better monitor like a 24" IPS or something like that, or maybe a better mouse keyboard combo like the Cooler Master Devastator combo.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

I'd take out the S340 and use the $40 saved to get a better monitor, maybe a 23-24" with a similar refresh rate maybe
