As an asus fanboy, I'd recommend the Z170-A, z170 pro gaming aura, or the z170 deluxe if you like throwing money away!

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

Well the deluxe is so expensive if you're getting a CPU other than the 6700K you could get one of the other ones I mentioned and buy the 6700k instead. If you are already getting the 6700K you could instead upgrade your GPU or move to the x99 platform with the extra cash the deluxe costs compared to a more reasonable board.

Yes, it is very nice, and has some nice accessories, but it is objectively not worth it. And that's coming from a guy that spent almost 600 bucks on his case.

and will i be fine with a 500w psu with a 960, 6600k, h100i v2 water cooler?

Yes. What PSU specifically though are you looking at? I'd recommend Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic personally. Also just a heads up, the 960 may bottleneck a 6600k a bit in games. But if you're at 1080p it should be fine.
