Hi so I need a laptop for video and photo editing. I've heard the yoga has really loud fans, but ofc it is 4k and touchscreen, but theres a video where someone uses an underpowered  MacBook, and it renders faster than a computer with better specs. Heres the vid

Not sure what budget you're heading for, but I would point you in the direction of the Razer Blade

He also probably wants a laptop that won't fall apart if you look at it wrong.

@QuantumBit

A Mac will only render much faster than it's specs would normally allow if you're rendering in Final Cut Pro. Otherwise, in Premiere, it's similar to any windows computer.

It depends how Pinnacle is optimized, but I'd assume it would perform the same relative to specs.

Only Final Cut/other Apple software will run better on OSX. Everything else will perform the same (relative to specs) -- assuming there is an equal level of optimization between OS X and Windows.

So it would be better to go with the 910? I wan't to make sure since this is going to be for someone else and I don't want to end up messing up something

It depends on the specs and how Pinnacle is optimized. The Yoga 910 uses a dual core Kaby Lake with HD620, so the 13" rMBP 2015 will have a better GPU and slightly slower CPU while the 15" will have a better GPU and quad core cpu.

Now, Pinnacle support Quicksync, but I'm not sure how Broadwell (for the 13" MBP)/Haswell (for the 15" MBP) Quicksync compares to Kabylake quicksync.

My guess is that the 13" MBP and Yoga will perform similarly.

Hmm. So they're equal in performance pinnacle wise (Except in Final Cut Pro X) but the Yoga has a 4k touchscreen, and can bend all the way (Without breaking) But I've heard the fans are really loud.

Hmm. So they're equal in performance pinnacle wise (Except in Final Cut Pro X) but the Yoga has a 4k touchscreen, and can bend all the way (Without breaking) But I've heard the fans are really loud.

Pinnacle and Final Cut both use Quicksync, so Final Cut might not be that much faster (if at all). However, as I said, I don't know how quicksync advanced between Broadwell and Kaby Lake -- I don't know if it compensates for the better iGPU in the MBP, and I also don't know how Pinnacle is optimized -- it might support quicksync, but still be limited by some other factor/s. These are all unknowns and I don't really feel like digging into how Pinnacle operates to make a conclusion -- but my ASSUMPTION is that the two systems would handle Pinnacle similarly.

Windows UI scaling is also terrible, and I can't stand using a touch screen on a laptop. So a 4k touchscreen doesn't sound like a plus to me (but obviously it might to others). As for the fans, I couldn't tell you, but a MBP won't exactly be silent under heavy load either.

Ok I think I might run Pinnacle on my current MBPr 2012 and see how it runs. Also what is UI scaling?

I would suggest doing a couple tests with Pinnacle then and see how it performs with quicksync on and off on your Mac, and if you want to compare quicksync on to a windows computer, then be sure to compare it to another ivy bridge CPU.

UI scaling is the size of UI elements (the size of texts, buttons, etc...). Windows' UI scaling is pretty bad and 4k on a small screen can be practically unusable with a mouse let alone with a finger.
