EGPU on laptop

Daniel J.

Hello,  i need a small help.

My laptop is HP Pavilion x360 s13-000nc.

Gaming performance is very bad. I3-5010U Intel 5500 4GB ram.

Is there any choice to upgrade it? I think about eGPU - but i dont have expresscard, thunderbolt and i dont know how to open the back (i tried it),so i cant use minipcie.

I found a transfer conector expresscard to usb but i dont think that is a good idea.

You will need a high bandwith port in order to get a gpu running. Without accessing minipcie i wont work i think. You cant run it over USB 3 bud.

Budget Rig "Curable":     | FX 6300 @4.5Ghz | Asus R9 270x | Asus Crosshair IV Extreme | 16GB HyperX Beast | 120GB PNY SSD

Tablet "Buddy":                 Trekstor Wintron 10.1|

Yeah, I wouldn't spend that cash. You have an i3 U-series CPU, meaning that you have a low-clock speed dual core with hyperthreading. That's not really ideal for gaming. An external GPU will help a bit, but it will soon be bottlenecked by your CPU. I'd advise a second machine if you really want to game.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

eGPU without NGFF m.2, PCI-e, MPCI-e, Thunderbolt or EC is impossible. USB to EC uses only the USB header from the EC port, not the PCI-e contacts. you're best off selling the machine and then buying a new one suitable for eGPU. Something like a HP 2570p, or X230/40.

idk
