Hey guys,

I am a PC building noob, and wanted to get into building my first PC, after watching many tutorials and browsing online stores I have finalized the foll. components

i5 6500
Gigabyte GTX 1070
Asus B150M PRO Gaming
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 gb ddr4
Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 3 Mini
Antec vp series 500w
Seagate barracuda 2tb

What i need help with: (1)are there any compatibility issues? (2)should I bump the RAM to 16gigs(I will only use this pc for gaming, office work) (3)Is the PSU good? Enough power output? (4)Does anyone have experience with this particular case, I cant find a review online?

The store I am using is theitdepot.com do suggest any better options for any of the components.

Cheers!

Get an SSD now, it is easier to add a HDD later than to add an SSD.

There is corsair VS550 psu, should I buy that instead of the Antec psu?

No.

Look at this tIer for reference, tier 3 above is what you should be looking for

There's no reason to get 1070 for 1080p unless you plan on playing max everything at 144hz. And at that point you should not get yourself i5 6500, but lets say 6700k instead. Save a couple of bucks or balance your budget by taking a 1060 6gb or rx 480 8gb instead and get yourself that SSD and better PSU.

CPU: i5 6600k @4.5GHz | GPU Zotac Amp! 1070 | RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb | Storage: Corsair Force LE 240gb +480gb | Case: Corsair Carbide Clear C400 | PSU: Corsair RM650x | Cooler: H110i GTX

Most of those seem out of my budget and/or are not available in my country. I am from india, and most of these have marked-up prices here.

but would a 1060 run 1080p for 4-5 years? I was hoping to make it a future proof build. I dont want to update the graphic card every gen.

Budget moe on the PSU then and lower something else. There is no point having a GTX 1070 is your PSU is not reliable.

I believe the RM450 is often fairly cheap on Amazon India.

Well here's one review for a 1060 6gb.

In 4-5 years you might not have all the grapchis settings turned to 11 but there's also the reason why shouldn't get the 1070. That is your processor. You're pairing up a mid range cpu with a top of the line GPU for a resolution that the GPU is not really even designed for. And since AMD RX 480 is neck in neck performance wise with the 1060, you should consider that one also.

It's better to allocate some of the budget to better parts overall, better PSU and the SSD for example.

CPU: i5 6600k @4.5GHz | GPU Zotac Amp! 1070 | RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb | Storage: Corsair Force LE 240gb +480gb | Case: Corsair Carbide Clear C400 | PSU: Corsair RM650x | Cooler: H110i GTX

also, do you agree with what @Constant Failure said, should I get a 1060 if I just want to play 1080p (and hit 60fps)? would it last 4-5 years at those setting?

If you were getting a GPU other than the GTX 1070, it should be a RX 480. Overall, I'd get a 480 then upgrade when that isn't good enough.

hmm, I guess I should just get 1060 or the 480, and from what I see 480 is a more future proof card!

Hey,

should I get the msi gaming x 1060 instead of the gigabyte G1 gaming? I hear there is coil whine issue with the gigabyte one
