I am upgrading from a 7870 blower style to an r9 fury nitro oc. I am also upgrading from a shitty emerson 720p 32 inch to a nice lg ultrawide 1080p 29 in freesync monitor. Isn't this like the biggest upgrade ever? It won't be here until around Christmas but i'll update the thread soon after getting them, and share the improvement.

I just recently upgraded from a 965 Black Edition and an EAH 5850 to an i7-6700 and a GTX 1080.

The fact that AshleyAshes was still using an Athlon 64 3200+ in 2010/2011 tho...  I thought my recent upgrade from 7 year old hardware was a big leap, but an Athlon to i5?  That is some dedication right there.

Psh. I once upgraded from an old i3, no dedicated graphics, and 4GB of RAM, to an i7 4790K, dual R9 290s and 16GB of RAM. 720p to 1440p. And also, to an SSD.

Man, that felt amazing...

i7 4790K || R9 290X + R9 290 || 16GB G.Skill TridentX 1866 || Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 || Crucial MX100 256GB || WD Caviar Blue 1TB
