Removing Intel video drivers for new 1070

Go to solution Solved by typographie,

I use both the Nvidia and Intel drivers in my system, as I have monitors connected to both video devices. It works fine.

If you want to be tidy about it, just uninstall the Intel drivers normally, from the Settings > Apps & Features menu. If you run into issues, blow it away with a tool like DDU and try again.

Hi LTT reader's, I've been running my first build using the Intel igpu, my 1070 has now arrived. What's the best practice regarding the install the card and driver's?  Do I need to uninstall the Intel drivers before fitting the 1070 and then install the lastest nvidia drivers?

Thanks for your time.

Tony

Run display driver uninstaller then go to nvidia.com and download the latest drivers for your card.

I would use that tool to obliterate the old drivers. Not entirely sure if it supports intel though.

You don't need to uninstall Intel drivers, it will work fine.

Also, plural is constructed with just S, without the apostrophe. It's written DRIVERS and READERS.

i7 4790K || R9 290X + R9 290 || 16GB G.Skill TridentX 1866 || Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 || Crucial MX100 256GB || WD Caviar Blue 1TB
