I bought this psu intending on getting a gpu that used pcie power. i found a cheap gtx 670 but need two 6pin connectors. can i use adaptors with this psu to make it work or do i need to just upgrade? tried to stay in budget but i dont want my gpu to get fried or anything else in the pc for that matter.

I can feel your PC blowing up from england, I strongly suggest getting a better psu

6600K - ASUS Z270i Gaming ITX - 8GB Corsair  Vengence LPX DDR4 2400MHZ - EVGA 1070SC - 120GB HyperX Savage SSD - CX430 PSU:|

No, the power output on generic psu's is questionable at best, and those rating for the 12volt rail aren't high enough for a 670/cpu/motherboard/drives/fans etc all together.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

it would be ok for now just make sure to give it a good dust off, PSU's don't like dust

For now as in a year? or like a month? i still have the reciept for the 400w and bought it less than 30 days ago. but if the 800w should last for more like a year ill see if my friend needs the 400w. closest microcenter center is 1.5 hrs away.

well as it is old it is hard to say if it will last and for how long but either way the 400w wouldn't be enough for your rig.

True. well thanks for all the help. you can rest easy knowing the 400w isnt going into the system with that gpu.
