4790k or 6850k?

Hello guys!

I know it's a weird question but still:

Right now, in my computer, I have a 6850k and a 4790k hanging on my desk collecting dust (it is in his box don't worry). My question is: wich one is better for gaming?

Thx!

p.s: i have a GTX 1080

6850k has 6 newer broadwell E core , but is clock slightly slower . it depnds on the game i suppose . clock for clock the 6850k wins though .

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

I mainly play Rainbow Six Siege, Just Cause 3, GTA V

If you have at least 8 threads, typically the one with higher clockspeed will win though both are overclockable so that argument isn't that sound...

So, your literally thinking of replacing a Broadwell-E cpu over a Haswell refresh one, for gaming and knowing both are overclockable, which in the end means the 6850K not only is "miles" better for more than just gaming, but it is also the more effective one to use for generalized computing? Also the fact that you have to switch the motherboard and some of its components, for something is just inferior (its 2 years old) in more than one line?
