Will copying Battlefield 1 to another pc work?

Disketa

I would do it like this:

1) I would copy the game from my hdd to my external hdd

2)Take it to my friend and copy the game folder from my external hdd to his pc

(i would run the game on the same account)

Would that work?

I don't think so. Usually most programs don't install everything in the same foler, so you won't have a working game if you only copy the game folder.

Origin uses a form of DRM to prevent this. You can copy the game files (default will be something like c:/program files(x86)/origin games. You'll need to log into your own origin account and click download again on BF1, then Origin should detect there are files stored locally and not actually re-download again, but rather just install.

Steam still needs to check that the files are there and give an OK that you can play/use them.

They are pretty close to each other. Steam just has bit more streamlined way to do things. With Origin, one needs to set download folder to be the folder where games are. With Steam you can add as many folders as libraries as you want.

Why don't you login to your Origin account on his computer and download it from there? Does he have bad connection speeds?
