Dual Channel Ram or Single?

Sorry if I got the terminology wrong but I'm looking to get 8gb of memory in a dual channel motherboard but I don't want to limit my upgradability. Should I opt for a single 8gb stick and later get another one or go for a dual channel 4gb kit right now? Would there be any stability issues with using a single stick that I would later upgrade to 16gb? My motherboard uses DDR4 memory capped at 2133 if that helps

Does your motherboard only contain 2 slots? If so, I would use one stick of 8GB to upgrade to 16 later.

Thanks for the help! I'd just have to upgrade with the same 8gb stick in the future, correct?

Buy 2X 8gb now, its worth it, and its cheap.

Dual channel just means that they've been verified to work together, though RAM is mixable. I'd go with the largest you can get in a small kit vs filling the board with not enough RAM, i.e. 2x8GB is better than 4x4GB.

Try to keep frequencies and latencies the same so you don't spend extra on a 2400mhz stick when your other stick is only 2133. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link :)
