Hello :) Im soon gonna buy a new gnu but can't decide which one to pick. Im choosing between GTX 1070, GTX 1060 6gb or 3gb or a used GTX 970.

The prices here where I live are: GTX 1070 = 515$, GTX 1060 6gb = 330$, Used GTX 970 around 190$

GTX 1060, I own this GPU and I can tell you it is awesome for 1080p at 80+FPS (resolution scaling at 125%)

(The only drawback is that the one I have has some coil whine)

BTW, are you gaming at 1080p or 1440p?

At what resolution are you playing? What is your CPU? What is your power supply? What about the RX 470 and the RX 480?

Do note that the GTX1060 3GB is slower than the 6GB variant because the 3GB contains less cores.

Alternatives for the GTX1060 6GB would be the RX480 and the RX470 for the GTX1060 3GB.

Not really... Get a GTX 1060 and save up for when Nvidia's next generation of GPUs hits the market... They will be waaaaaayyyyy faster than the GTX 10xx cards

I must say im also more into GTX than AMD x)

(The main reason why I got a GTX 1060 instead of an RX 480 was that i am an Nvidia fanboy xD)

I'd get a 1070 (btw, I did upgrade to it from the 770. (Will have the card in a few days).

But note that I do use a 3440x1440 so anything less than 1070 would not be an acceptable upgrade to keep for 2-3 years.

If you play on a 1080p screen and don't plan to get a better monitor soon'ish - i'd go with a 1060 - and the 6 vs 3 GB version might seem like a worthwhile investment - but check online - the differences are  2-4 fps. Depending on the game.

And later games will benefit more from a faster GPU rather than more VRAM.

How much is the 480 where you live and which models? Ignore the hilariously stupid nonsense about 480 = 970. my 480 is faster than a 390x which puts it on par with a 980.
