Motherboard Suggestions in $150 range.

So I'm in the process of upgrading my PC and resurrecting it as a streaming/gaming rig, and recently got my i7 6700k to facilitate this. However, my current motherboard is wildly incompatible with my new CPU (my current CPU is an i7 860), and so I'm in the market for a new mobo in the $150ish price range.

Any suggestions for a first-time custom PC builder? :)

Gigabyte GA-Z170x-UD3 ultra is $170 though but on discount I have seen some drop to 150.

I mean, it does, but since I don't recommend running a Skylake CPU over 1.4V, it won't really need those 12 phases (not to mention, it's probably actually 6 phases but with 2 MOSFETs each). Only extreme overclockers really need more than your usual 6-10 (depending on the CPU family).

 

Also remember that each power phase is made of FETs that can do more or less power each, so actually knowing the number of power phases can only give you a very vague idea of the limits of a power delivery system.
