AMD Crimson software auto OCing

So i havent had an AMD card for half a decade now, but im on the verge to order a 4 gig RX 480 once and for all after long thinking. Theres just one thing id like to find out. Ive heard that Crimson software auto OC's your card and you cant disable it. Im not into OCing and would like to keep all stock to dont over stress weaker PCB components in return for longer life span. So is that true or you can leave the card at stock speeds ?

I'm running a 480 and Crimson didn't auto OC it for me.

While youre gaming, youre sure it doesnt do OCing on the fly ?

Nope, stays at the 1288 base clock. unless I enable my own OC'ing but I use Afterburner for that.

Its basically like turboboost, it won't hurt your card. Its just raising the clocks when the power is under the limit.

So it wont exceed certain boundaries while in turbo is in effect ?

Oki doki thnx. Will take some time to get used to AMD card and their software again but finaly seeing Crysis 3 maxed out will be worth it i hope.
