pc doesnt like cold

right so my pc doesnt like to be cold when i start it  

ill post a video of what happens when i press power when my room is cold

what could be causing this?

it is over clocked but i can rule out the only variable to be room temperature (i dont have anything to measure ambient temps with) ill guess and ball park it to be in the range of 15c-18c and when my room feels warm 21+c

the temps are just a guess, 

 

this issue DOES NOT happen when i restart from within windows

I think he is referring to the start boot, then it shuts off, and boots again.

I had that issue, turned out to be the PSU and nothing else

I had the exact same thing, annoyed the hell out of me, turned out to be the PSU, a Corsair HX620

Mine does it too. Is pretty common from what I can tell. If its the psu my RM1000i is busted and I don't think so.

I was told it's most likely a ram cold boot problem after its cycles and heats up its fine ?

If that's the case, why have I never had it happen since I replaced the PSU?

No idea, mine would boot loop one time similar to when changing some bios setting, it powers down fully then turns on instead of restarting with some other bios changes. I think my case may be different as I havnt had any more than one cycle then boot. Worth thinking about an researching as its a farly common thing with ram to do this on cold boot ups.

Corsair PSUs seem to be problematic, I would switch to evga

SOME would say that SOME Corsair PSU's are crap. Depends on the actual manufacturer. I really cant say though. Do you have another PSU for testing purposes? Borrow one maybe?

to eliminate the cold boot issue , take a hairdryer , open the case , blow some hot air in there for a few seconds and see if it STILL has the problem

I dont know the celsius scale very well. At 12-18c is it cold enough for condensation in the PC? Maybe just leave it running idle. Nevermind looks like 18c is about 64F, hardly cold.

if my room is warm then it boots fine, but in the morning when its cold it does the on off then boots

well mines a tier 3/4 soo, no i dont have another psu that i can use

OK, I have an Asus Maximus VII Formula, and I have noticed that if the MoBo has been without power for a little while it will start, stop, then start. It might be related to what you're experiencing? (The start, stop, start when it has been without power is normal, as it has to charge capacitors IIRC). Might be a combination of a PSU that does not like low temps, and the way some Asus MoBos behave when there's no power.

 

Edit: I just saw your vid, and the behaviour looks IDENTICAL to what mine does when it's been without power, for just a few mins (I am still not sure if it is related, just the first thing that pops into my head)...
