If it was me..and experienced this...I would check/memorize the bios then revert your bios to "default" with a hotkey (check manual or bios) and then go through it settings it up accordingly again and check results.

If not already done.

turns out after changing my fclk to 400mhz and v to 1.36 it worked

Ok so i successfully overclocked my i5-6400 to 4.2ghz on the ASrock z170 pro4s board

but had to turn off the overclock when i didnt have a graphics card in for a few days now

when i try to overclock with the same settings and bios as before it just makes my clock speed

stay on 2.6

any thoughts that could help

Im not getting into this again google it

Why? I know that Intel send i new code to Partners. If you updated your Bios, non k oc is gone. Buy a k cpu like we all do for oc.

If it was me..and experienced this...I would check/memorize the bios then revert your bios to "default" with a hotkey (check manual or bios) and then go through it settings it up accordingly again and check results.

If not already done.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
