prebuilt case

i have a micro atx prebuilt case and i was wondering if i could use this to build a gaming pc with a msi gaming x rx480 and an i3-6100. i have done some research but im not really getting definitive answers on whether this system would have serious problems with cooling.

you havent provided any details on the case or the prebuilt system

Depends, but those aren't particularly hard to cool components. You should be fine as long as you can use the original motherboard as most don't use the atx format.

so i forget model of the prebuilt case but it was a run of the mill compaq case from around 2010

As far as cooling goes, you want at least one intake fan on the front and one exhaust fan on the back for optimal performance. Make sure to measure your case, and than check that against the size of your parts. also, check to see if your case has proprietary power and usb/audio connectors (most older dell cases will for example).

Yeah last thing you want is to go out and buy those components don't have the hardware in the case to support it

No front intake.I would just get a new case and cut your losses.

it has intakes on the sides of the front
