Got it. Cheers, man!

So I guess I'll be upgrading my PSU next, then search for the best bang for the buck GPU. So far my old recom PSU had no troubles sustaining a AMD phenom II x4 965 and the r9 270x, even though that I have to use the molex adapter for it.

Any particular PSU from seasonic you'd recommend?

Eh, pretty much all of their stuff is solid. Just get one that's semi modular at the very least and you should be set.

Hi guys,

So my new PC parts arrived the other day. Right now I'm still using the old GPU and I'm planning on upgrading it in the near future. What should I pick to best fit the parts that I have?

CPU: i5 6500

MOBO: ASUS H110M-C

RAM: 16GB (8x2) DDR4 2133

GPU: MSI r9 270x Hawk Edition (needs to be changed)

PSU: Recom powerengine 500W semi modular

SSD: Kingston 240GB

If you're going to recommend a power hungry GPU, please let me know if I'll need to change my power supply too.

I'm gaming at 1080p, with a secondary monitor at 1600x900.

Cheers!

Yeah, new PSU first.

GTX 1060 6GB would be great update for you. It would match perfectly with your new i5 CPU.

And GTX 1060 is using even less power than R9 270X ... I do recommend you to get some better PSU, but if your 270x was working just fine in that build, you shouldn't have any problems with GTX 1060 in it.

The sticker on it should be grey. If not, anything from seasonic works as well.

Yeah, the sticker is actually grey. What does that have to do with the performance. I don't know anything about Corsair type of branding things

More over quality. Better internals, like Caps and temperature rating.

Try to beat these;

XFX R9 480 8GB - $210 after MIR

Gigabyte G1 RX 480 8GB - $210 with code EXTRA20

Supports Crossfire. Its Polaris, not power hungry by any means.

Will look into those, yeah.

But I won't be able to buy off amazon, new egg, etc. Shipment in my country will be expensive af.

Ok. Not sure if this seller has a good price or reputation, but I'll give it a shot...

GTX 1060 3GB

RX 480 4GB

RX 480 8GB

hahaha, don't worry, man. I know the most reputable sellers in my area. I didn't have to take your time to search for Romanian sites
