Badass futuristic looking Anti Drone Gun can take down a drone from more than a mile away

Doubt this 'gun' will ever be legal in most modern countries.

As it stands non-directed jamming devices are barely legal in the US, so something like this that directs that affect across a long distance and then telling people to aim it at aircraft (regardless of origin) is plainly irresponsible at best, and blatantly malicious at worst.

It won't be legalized for the same reason that current law enforcement doesn't even use similar devices; because for them to it would jam out all of their own communication and operational systems, including vital operational systems on most aircraft.

You can ghetto something similar if you know your networking hardware...

Its basically a directional RF jammer in the frequency that drones use for communication.

You can find videos on how to make wifi jammers on youtube.

Just get the right antenna and boost its signal and badabing badaboom.

I brought it up in earlier discussions about anti-drone solutions but everyone shot it down saying its too dangerous and illegal.

Now look someone commercializes it for 1000x the required cost and everyone praises it, despite still being illegal.

****ing two faced cocksuckers...

Also, futuristic my ass.

Very true. Granted, it looks a little sexier than having an old analog antenna sick to an AR platform,  but same exact concept.

Also, the guide d9wn to safety isn't part of the gun. Drones are generally programmed to land or return to its original location when it loses the signal from the operator. This gun jams the drones ability to receive signals by flooding the EM Spectrum around it. A safe landing is programmed into the drone, not caused by the gun.

These are pretty cool, simple, and reliable. Not really a way to counter this unless you hardwire your drone to the operating device.

And if you shoot it at someone's head they get brain cancer from the EM radiation. Neat.

The guy that takes down the drone in the video is way too proud of himself.  We need a drone that sucks the gun out of his hands when he tries to take it down.

Make a steam powered drone, problem solved. You can also drop boiling water from the sky with it if you see fit.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

You won't get brain cancer if you keep wearing a tinfoil hat.

Even a steam powered dr9ne would have to have direction. The only way to keep it going is to preprogram it's destination, but the jammer will still cut its reception  of GPS.

I was thinking Nuclear Propulsion and tractor beams but your solution seems much quicker and easier to apply.
