Top-down blowing cpu cooler for amd fx

I was thinking about a top down blowing cpu cooler since im waiting for a fx 8300 im gonna oc to 4.0ghz or more, the aditional advantage over my noctua nh-d15 would be that it would blow air down on to the mb and make the vrms a bit cooler, the amd wraith cpu cooler seems to be the one to go for if you got it with the amd fx 8350 or 8370

The fx 8300 doesn't come with the amd wraith cooler, since im a silent freak, i like my cpu cooler as silent, quiet as possible so i don't notice it

Is there any more cooler and silent  top-down blowing cpu cooler than the amd wraith cooler for max 50€?

50€ is about 55$

Have come across the Cryorig H5 that a few have recommended as one of the cheapest cpu cooler  for a fx 8350 and one that is surpose to be better than the very popular coolermaster hyper 212 ev/x or what ever the latest version is called

Any experience using a 140mm + fan so it gives a bit more air to cool the vrms?

It's very expensive and it's NOT a top-down blowing cpu cooler and it would not be an alternative to the noctua nh-d15 i have

depends on the way you mount it.I have it. i mounted it so it blows to the side, but you could mount it so it blows down, toward the gpu

I believe they mean 'down' as in towards the CPU, literally down if the mobo were laying flat on a desk with CPU facing up.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

My gpu is not a problem, it's a fx 8300 that i will oc and it's the WRMS on the mb im interested in giving a bit extra air

What motherboard are you using and will you have good case air flow to begin with? I ask because it'll give us an idea about how well your vrm's are cooled right now.

You might not need a new cpu cooler, and if you really want some peace of mind, a $2-3 40mm fan or two on the vrm heatsink might do you. My system currently has a fx-6100 @ 4.1ghz with the vcore on 1.36v and llc on low (may of slightly won the silicon lottery there). Yet being only a 4+1 phase design with reasonably well cooled vrm's I can't get much more out of it.

That said the fx-8300 turbos to 4.2ghz with a p state of around 1.37v, so 4.2ghz on all cores as on oc with turbo off should be a very achievable oc. Though that would be with good power delivery,
