Testing Lan Port

I do believe both of my Ethernet ports on my mobo are dead

Is there anyway to be 100% sure it's them?

Are there any lights that light up when you try and use them? You could also try to reset the cmos by pulling out the battery.

Yeah no lights.

By pulling out the battery, would the mobo need to have power running through it? or completely off

I would try with it powered on. You might also want to cheak the port on the router. or on the wall.

You can use a USB to Ethernet adapter and if that works its probably the motherboard that is failing. If not, it is probably the wire or the drivers on your PC are not up to date.

I did that, still no lights.
