Gpu crashing and under clocking

Hello I having lots of issues with what I believe are GPU problems. I recently went from windows 8 to windows 7  to try to solve these problems.

 

The problems i'm having are the GPU crashing and GPU not running at 100% "TDP" even while running benchmarks or games. My system specs are below this text, my power supply is a HX 750W from corsair and my CPU is over clocked to 4.5 ghtz my GPU is not over clocked.

 

when running a benchmark or game the "TDP" starts at 110% or at 130% when I have it over clocked which I don't at the moment, after 30 seconds the TDP drops to about 80% and then eventually to 30% which causes severe stutters while still getting a high fps, the temps are around 50C which is very cold if I force the fans to 100% the TDP goes up a bit  maybe 10- 15 % which I find strange, eventually the GPU drivers or GPU crashes and screen goes black.....

 

I have built the system myself with cooling and quality in mind I cool my cpu with a H100i, I have gone overkill most things since the core items gpu and cpu are only a Asus 660ti and a i5 3570k, the mobo which is a z77 sabertooth, 8gb of corsair vengeance ram and a HX 750 corsair power supply which is also overkill for only one gpu so Im not cheaping out on anything but I'm getting still getting problems.

 

Things I have done to try to fix the problem: install windows 7 instead of windows 8, installed beta drivers for gpu, installed old drivers for gpu, reset msi after burner settings, reset bios, checked that gpu is seated properly is pci slot.

 

After installing windows 7 it was fine for 1 month or so then the same problems started happening, in this time i did not install any gpu over clocking software or anything but I did install msi afterburner after the problems started happening again on windows 7 so I could diagnose it.

 

The problem seems to be that the gpu lowers the TDP for no reason even at very low temps < 65 and then the gpu crashes, I have also reset bios and tried with no over clock on anything

I would actually attempt to contact Asus for a replacement. This really sounds like a dying graphics card. I'm sorry I don't have a fix for you

The gpu is at 55C which is very cold a gpu can run at 90c happily, and the gpu is 6 months old

Thanks , as of now the gpu is ok again??? ive been running msi combuster for 30 minutes and TDP is at 108% which is normal but im still wondering why it has done what it has done and if it will happen again?

Yeah so it seems that it randomly fixed itself for now lets hope it stays ok.
