I just bought an EVGA gtx 1070 ftw. I was wondering if I have to replace the thermal pads, or am in the clear

If it has thermal pads on, you're in the clear.
The issue was with cards that didn't have any installed.

If you just recently bought it (like very recently) then probably not. If it's older you should contact EVGA.

You probably don't need them unless you're running Furmark on your rig. You can pick up the thermal pads from EVGA for free.
