Can an Xbox one controller function correctly via bluetooth?

I haven't had an issue via bluetooth.

If your in an area with alot of signal interference I could see the BT having an issue, but in your room with your PC and that's it, no problem.

The controller should come with a usb wire to use. Also don't forget that battery pack, the cheap one or the xbox one. The color of the pack doesn't matter the battery pack goes behind the cover.

Then maybe the USB wire comes with the battery pack. When I bought mine(the GoW red one) I bought the battery pack too. I'd rather have to plug in and charge and play than to look for batteries.

I bought the gears of war one because when I went to my local best buy it was either the Gears one or the blue one, and I took the gears one because oddly they didn't have the regular black one.

I haven't had issues with mine, it works fine. I just have to make sure BT is off on my phone, and other PC because it would rather connect to my phone than my PC.

im really interested in this charge and play pack, i'm really tempted to just fling in some LI-ions because that's way cheaper than their special charge and play pack, but im pretty worried that the charging and discharging circuitry is actually going to be in the pack which is a shame, would be really cool if we got easy li-ion cells. oh well... i actually was going to buy these controllers because they are half price now (from 50 to 29 i believe). but the dongle on its own costs 20 bucks, then the plug and play pack costs another 20. imagine buying that when its regular price...

All I bought was the Xbox one Gears controller, and the battery pack. I have the usb wire, the battery pack and the controller. That's enough to use on a PC(at least wirelessly via BT, or wired).

The battery pack is about the size of 2 AA batteries. It's not like the older Xbox 360 controllers where it had it's own special pack and everything. It's just a battery pack the size of 2 batteries, that goes under the cover that matches your controller.

I could take out my battery pack, and stick in 2 AA batteries and use that without a problem.

The controller still works with no batteries in it, when it's hooked up via USB.

no i know but that's not what i meant :P i know it works with normal battery's but i want it to work with lithium battery's. normally those don't function in for example a remote because their discharge rate etc is different and they can overdischarge and break themselves, the new xbox one controllers use lithium ion battery's in the plug and play pack but it probably has the protection circuitry inside the little battery pack instead of the controller so i cant just plug in some lose lithium ion cells which would cost me about 4 bucks.
