RX490 release date?

Hey guys! Its been a pretty long time with the GTX1070 not having any AMD counterparts. When will the RX490 be released so the GTX1070 has some competition from AMD.

And will there be any GTX1080 competitors?

There're a few rumours but those cannot be trusted. I'd say anywhere between now and this time next year.

Wasn't there some talking about RX 490 having 2x RX 480 GPUs inside acctually?

So it would be just like RX 480 crossfire?

Even if they do make HBM for that card, it will be still using dual GPU system. And that's the same as running crossfire --> buggy in some games.

And if I'm not mistaken it will be Q2-3 2017.

Two GPUs would be good news for the "AMD or nothing" buyers, but would have Crossfire limitations. (some games just don't scale for multi GPU (SLi included) these days)

Would be nice to have another choice though, especially for the Freesync monitors. A single 480 isn't cutting 4K or even 1440p maxed.
