First Gaming Build

EthannKeller

Hi guys, I live in the US and was looking to start dabbling into the PC gaming world and I though this $750 dollar PC ought to do the trick. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GHNVGf I created it and obviously I'm no expert so I would appreciate some advice. With this build I hope to achieve 60+ fps in BF1 at ultra or very high settings, and hopefully many more titles to come. I kinda had a black and red scheme going on but if you change it, there is no biggie.

You can get a 6700k or a 6600k when you're ready to upgrade; you'll be able to overclock without a motherboard. You'd also need a CPU cooler for them if you plan to overclock the,.

You are probbably gonna hate me, but I would do the following changes:

Get NZXT S340 elite instead. It's 200$ expencier, but it has tempered glass ... it looks 10x better than plexi on normal S340. telling from experiences.

Then I would also go with some SSD if possible. It's a must for 2016 budget over 600$.

You can cut back on PSU, and get 500W instead. It will be more than enough for your build.

RX 480 +i3 + all other components won't even pull 300W out of the wall. So 500W PSU will do just fine.

And I would get GTX 1060 instead of RX 480 xD

I was planning to stay with this build for a year + so, I would probably buy a newer socket at that time.

I also added ddr4 2400 memory to the build. The 2133 with BF1 and shit will be a slight bottleneck. BF1 and other current Triple AAA games use a bunch of memory.

I was wondering about that, 8gb seems to be just passing this year would It be smart to go for 16 gb, since i plan to be using this build for a whole year?

I don't think it's a bad idea.

In 1 or 2 years he will be able to sell that i3 CPU for around 70$, then buy i5 6600k or i7 6700k.

And after that it will be pretty sweet PC ;)

How does this look guys? Figured I go for a little higher end case so I could have it for a longer time.

Change the memory and motherboard than. I specifically outed for a micro atx case because your mobo is micro atx and the the memory because I changed the mobo for a z170 micro atx.  Would look really stupid in a mid tower

still would get something like an i5 processor and 1x8 ram

He doesn't have a budget for an i5 and 2x4 is faster.

you dont need dual channel if you have a h110 board (learned it the hard way) its better to go 1x8 since you can upgrade more. i am pretty sure i had fit an i5 in my reccomendation
