Steam Link worth It?

I've been pretty unimpressed by Steam's streaming capabilities. I've tried streaming my desktop PC to my laptop and the connection's awful, there's massive amounts of artifacting, the framerate is very poor and the lag is bad.

How did you connect them together? Over WIFI or Ethernet?

Did all components have Gigabit? Including the Router/Switch, your Gaming PC and your laptop?

 

Artefacting is usually the result of an incorrect setting or way too much lag/slow connection.

It could also be the Steam streaming settings not being adjusted properly.
